What is a batik?
Atomic's batik process begins with a white 100% cotton garment, all natual fiber reactive dyes, and pure beeswax. Brushes, metal tjanting tools, and a variety of other materials are used to paint the design on the garment in layers of dye and wax. Once the final layer of wax is painted over the entire design, the wax is cooled, cracked and the whole garment is submerged into a dye bath. The wax resisits the dye, which only penetrates areas where there is no wax or where the wax is cracked. In the end, the wax is boiled out and the excess dye is removed from the garment leaving behind the distinctive crackle effect that is characteristic of batik. No dry cleaning chemicals are used in this batik process.

Can I select a different shirt color or shirt style other than what I see on your online store page?
Yes. If you see a design you like but would prefer a different shirt style or color, you can request a custom order. Click on the customer service link. Let us know the design, shirt style, and size that you want. We will contact you within 24-48 hours to let you know when your item will be ready (2-4 weeks) and to make payment arrangements.

• Toddler 6.1 oz Jersey (heavyweight, unisex) - Shortsleeve 2T-4T
• Infant Onsies (lightweight with snaps) 3-6M, 12M, 18M, 24M.

*All garments are 100% cotton and have been washed and dried as part of the dying process. Garments are guaranteed not to fade bleed or shrink. We recommend that customers wash garments in cold and tumble dry.

I have a design that I would like to have made in batik. Can you do this?
